This is coming up soon in Hobart, Tasmania! I asked Laura McMahon (Brain Foetus) to make the poster and she did a stellar job. We ran off copies in blue on my risograph and they’re going up all over Hobart now. See you there! jxo facebook event is here

Zine Fair Launch Party
Zine Fair Launch Party The night before the Small Press Zine Fair we’re throwing a party at Studio 65…
Ronnie Scott and Elizabeth MacFarlane recently published an academic article in Text Journal about The Long Weekend in Alice Springs and matters to do with authorship, voice and adaptation. It’s quite a comprehensive article that I must admit blew me a away a bit with its thoroughness.

We have had a few really lovely memorable moments that have only happened because we’re in this band which make it really nice to have spent all this time doing this thing. One was helping a beauuuuutiful fella Matteo raise money after he was dealt some really bad news and the only thing that connected us to him was the band. Another was meeting @dvoller7 after he heard Don Dale and him introducing the song before we played it up in Brisbane. Another is being sent this print from @jshsantospirito after we asked if we could use words from an essay he adapted and turned into a graphic novel by Craig San Roque called the Long Weekend in Alice Springs which is completely freeken amazing. Another is just getting the opportunity to chat with @enigmatic_utopian! All of these people are apart of beautiful projects or have gone through or are going through really heavy fucking things. We don’t for a second try and understand the scale that they are on. It is unimaginable! But we are thankful that we get the opportunity to have a yarn with them because of this band. Hats off xoxo https://www.instagram.com/p/BpW2m2QnD5z/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=2hm2vyxemqem
